A joint venture with Bridgehouse Capital, Arena Central Developments LLP, was formed in 2003 for the regeneration of this 7.8 acre island site fronting Broad Street and Queensway.

Outline planning permission has been granted for a vibrant mix of 2.3m sq ft (213,677 sqm) of commercial, residential, leisure, retail and hotels and up to 2,500 car parking spaces.

Phase one of Arena Central has been sold to Dandara who has secured planning permission for The V Building, an iconic, Eric Kuhne designed 50-storey residential tower.

It is anticipated that Arena Central could further reinforce the greater Broad Street area as one of the UK's leading leisure and commercial areas and become a major land mark and tourist attraction.

Demolition and site clearance works are progressing.

Pre-lets are being actively sought.

Former Leisure Club Arena Central site sold to Centre Island Birmingham Ltd.  Planning permission has been granted to Centre Island Birmingham Ltd for a 14-storey, 210 bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel.
